James R. Beattie – Serving Toronto 
James R. Beattie is an officiant with Cathy Davis & Co., bringing deep experience in
both corporate leadership and community service. A proud member of the gay
community, James serves as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for Metropolitan
Community Church of Toronto (MCCT), a globally recognized leader in LGBTQ+
inclusion and human rights. MCCT made history by performing the first same-gender
marriage in the world.
James is also a dedicated member of the MCCT choir, blending his love of music with
his commitment to faith and community. With a successful career on Bay Street, he now
devotes much of his time to service, including active involvement in the 12-Step
Abstinence Community.
A proud father of young adult twins, James lives and works in downtown Toronto. His
longstanding friendship with Cathy Davis spans over two decades, during which his
family has been deeply touched by her pastoral care in both joyous and solemn
moments. He is honored to be affiliated with Cathy Davis & Co., supporting individuals
and families in celebrating life’s most meaningful milestones.​
