KRISTEEN ESPINOZA ~ Serving Niagara, Hamilton, and Haldimond/Norfolk Areas
Let me just start by saying that I love being an Officiant! I love seeing the look of anticipation, hope and joy on the faces of a bride and groom as they wait to become one. I truly believe it is a privilege to be allowed to enter into the great love stories of marriage, death and birth. But before you entrust me with this great privilege let me tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Niagara where I was a competitive baton twirler and squash player. I moved to California to work in my families’ manufacturing business where I met and married my darling and devoted husband of 14 yrs, David. In 2016 we returned to Niagara with our rescue kitty Topaz to be with family. (yes, family matters to us so much that we chose to leave California to come back to Canada!!!) We are now residing in Cooks Mills and are currently renovating an 1830’s farmhouse. It is great to be back in the Region reconnecting with family and friends.
My biggest adjustment other than the weather has been the explosion of growth in Niagara especially in the wine and craft spirits industry. What a pleasant surprise to have so many great wineries right here in our back yard. Considering myself a bit of a mixologist, I am thrilled to be able to buy local liquor and bitters that also reflect this unique microclimate called Niagara. Some additional passions include travelling (especially enjoyed Italy, Paris, Africa and a recent trip to Old Quebec City) playing squash, tennis, birding and water colour painting.
So how did I get into being an officiant? After our family business was sold I shifted gears and was ordained as a Pastor in a Christian, Non Denominational Church in Orange County, CA where I cared for people through life’s transitions. For 11 years I got to walk alongside people during their most joyous and difficult days while equipping them with the tools to survive and thrive. It was through those experiences that I realized I loved being with people at life’s most pivotal moments.
Whether your love story is just beginning or you are saying goodbye to someone you loved I would be delighted to speak with you and use my energetic but calming personality to serve you.
(Kristeen will be retiring at the end of 2022, we will be so sad to lose her but are excited for her adventures ahead!)
'Kristeen, we don't know where to start- you were so amazing! Thanks for adding beautiful words to our ceremony- many guests later commented on how meaningful the ceremony was and how it seemed like you knew us for many years! We really appreciate the time that you spent with us through planning and on our special day. Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!' Natalie and Christian
