CATHY DAVIS ~ "I am so very proud to lead this wonderful team of professional,
compassionate, loving people!"
I am a hopeless romantic and absolutely love what I do… growing up in the north end of St. Catharines in the Heart of Niagara Iwas exposed to the most amazing example of what a marriage should be- my parents Jim and Betty were best friends who were such a great inspiration. I live around the corner from where I grew up raising my two amazing boys Evan and Colin. (I was lucky to be married to their Dad, my best friend Scott who sadly passed away in 2008). Evan is in his fifth year at the University of Waterloo to study Honours Environmental Resource and Sustainability Management and Colin is heading in to his first year at Niagara College to study Film and Television broadcasting after finishing his final year at a performing arts High School performing at as one of the leads in Mama Mia and performed at Disney in May of 2019!
We are so lucky to live in Niagara and get to enjoy all that it has to offer from beautiful restaurants to the local wineries and amazing bike travels, golfing and kayaking; all things I love! I also love to travel and have been all around Canada and the Us as well as to England, Australia twice~ most recently with my two boys in 2009/10 travelling from Cairns to Adelaide boogy boarding along the way and snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef. I am definitely a summer girl at heart and love spending time on the water and the beach in Florida, Cuba or wherever I can escape to over the winter months (Cost Rica- March Break 2016 -ask me about ziplining, boogy boarding and being chased by monkeys!). We enjoy walking our two sister dogs- Golden Retrievers~ Ginny (November 2015) and Nora (June, 2018) who are both just so entertaining and the cutest things! Music has always been a big part of my life singing in every kind of choir there was in High School (my favourite was Jazz!), and now attending all of my boys theatrical and musical performances.
I used to get in trouble as a girl in school for talking too much, chatty Cathy.... now I get to speak full time for a living- I wish that I could share that with some of my teachers now!! Serving families and couples now since 2004, I have performed over 1500 weddings and funerals and have such a passion for what I do. Compassion, caring, empathy and calmness, as well as a sense of humour when possible, are all qualities that I bring to my work every day. Studying Hospitality Management including events and working in the Hospitality Industry for over 20 years planning and executing hundreds of weddings in the Niagara Region brings me a broad knowledge of all that goes on in the wedding industry behind the scenes. I have also enjoyed teaching and inspiring children and teens in the United Church community in St. Catharines as well from 2000-2018. I truly have the best job in the world, pronouncing couples husband wife and being there at the most intimate and emotional times in people’s lives is a privilege that I never take for granted! I am dedicated to making your ceremony the one of your dreams whether it is laid back and casual or more formal. I am looking forward to meeting you and hearing your love story!
Hi Cathy! Ben and I wanted to thank you for helping us to have the most memorable ceremony we could imagine! You gave us so much choice and helped us to have a ceremony that truly reflected us as a couple! Your messages summed us up perfectly! Your sense of humor and kindness made communicating long distance so easy and comfortable! We had the best day ever and cannot thank you enough for the huge role you played!! We have had so many compliments about how relaxed and beautiful our ceremony was! Thanks again, Emily and Ben.
